A coin of the pahalava lord gondophares from gandhAra.

A coin of the pahalava lord gondophares from gandhAra. The exact date of his has been contested though likely around 20 BCE. The Greek legend reads: basileos basileon megalou gondopherrou; the prAkR^ita: mahArAja-rAjAdhirAja-trAtara-devavrata-gUDavharasa. The deva-vrata is found

only in the prAkR^ita side along with an image of rudra. This raises the possibility that this Iranic ruler was a performer of the ancient pAshupata-vrata which is what is signaled by the deva-vrata rather than a generic "one observing religion"
