9 grahas

These Nine celestial bodies are :
Surya(Sun)
Chandra(Moon)
Mangal(Mars)
Budh(Mercury)
Brihaspati(Jupiter)
Shukra(Venus)
Saturn(Shani)
Rahu(ascending Moon)
Ketu(descending Moon)
Sun was the principal deity (picture)  the Centre of Universe with the #Grahas around him.

#Navgraha, nine celestial bodies, identified with nine Hindu deities were established in Hinduism even before Greeks could invent the word #Astronomy !

Hindus during Vedic age established the Heliocentric model while West till 17 CE believed in Geocentric Universe. 

Interestingly,  till about 17 CE,  West followed the #Geocentric model laid by Ptolemy in 2 CE. 

in fact, till about 1704 AD,  the concept of Solar System was unknown to the West.

Though, it was established by Hindus during the Vedic Age.

Tamil Nadu has dedicated temples to each of the Nine Grahas !
